My Parents' Fish farm

I believe that the spices in vinegar worked because yesterday I had cooked chicken sukha curry and usually there would be the smell of it throughout the whole apartment for a few hours but there wasn't any. So possibly it did get rid of the unpleasant odour (to my husband the smell of chicken curry lingering in the air is not unpleasant).

Let me tell you a little bit about where my parents live. Currently they are living on a fish farm which floats on the Linggi River situated at the border of Melaka and Negeri Sembilan in Malaysia. They have lived there and worked the farm on their own ever since my eldest brother passed away in a road accident a few years ago.

Working the farm requires a lot of physical labour which includes cleaning the nets/cages, making the food for the fish, catching the fish when it is time to be sold. For a couple their age to be doing all that is a lot of commitment.

The picture below was taken on the side of the floating house facing the Melaka side.

The next picture shows the outlet from land that we take to go to the farm.

Possibly by middle of this year, my father might be getting two hired hands and things will get much better.
