Clown shoes and little animals

After trying out the figures, I was a bit more ambitious and wanted to make a clown. I started out with a pair of green and pink shoes. It looked cute and then came the legs, looked kind of chunky, and positioned the legs in the shoes in a pose I wanted them to be. The next morning, I painted the socks green and yellow but the painting came out crappy. Not really liking where I was going, I scrapped the whole thing. Sigh ...

Finally, I thought, let's just make a pair of clown shoes and we'll go from there. I did some research on clown shoes and had some idea of how to make it. Ta daa! Here it is:

Not bad, huh, for a beginner (patting self on the back :P) Anyway, I didn't have a star cutter so went for the small cutter for the daisy. I was going to use royal icing for the laces later. They even have little black soles. Anderson wasn't too thrilled coz he felt my earlier choice of pink and green was better but my green just wasn't enough for both.

Next, I thought, let's try something smaller and cute and easier. Hey, making the shoes wasn't that easy, for me, that is. Well, I checked some samples and decided on a pink bunny! Making the body was easy. Now, the mouth was a different thing altogether. I was supposed to get some teeth in there but I put on the cheeks first and I guess the top lip kind of got pushed down to the lower lip so there wasn't much space to put in two front teeth. The hardest part was the ears. I had to prop them up in the pose I wanted and since I was using marshmallow fondant, it was a bit soft and kept trying to fall down. So here's the little guy ... his head has kind of tilted to one side because of the weight of the two ears. I had fund doing the soles of his feet :)

After the pink bunny, I tried out a little bear. This was so much easier! He is just so cute!
