Gum paste Fairy turned Elf

Working on the figure was quite a challenge. First, I wanted the arms outstretched with a small flower but again my impatience got the better of me and one of the arms snapped. I pulled off both arms and started again. Anderson told me to place her hands on her lap instead so okay, the second time was much better. Dressing up the fairy was fun. I loved the way the petals curved out. I wanted to put on little leaves on her shoulder to cover up the joints but after the arms snapped earlier, I left them out.

Doing the head was interesting. I had to hold my hand so that it was steady when I painted on the eyebrows and eyes, The pointed ears at first refused to stay but they got into line soon.

I would like to say, I don't like hair, I hate making the hair, I just don't have much luck making it all nice and thick. I am also bad at shaping the hairstyle. To disguise this I made a hat for it, a little pixie hat. I tried to stick the hair into the hat but failed so frustrated, I just stuck on some gum paste cut and pushed the hat down on it.

Then I wondered if I should give her wings but Anderson felt it would be overkill so she turned into an elf instead.
